Prayerful Season

My Lord God,

I have no idea where I am going
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself,
And the fact that I think I am following
your will does not mean that I am
actually doing so.

But I believe that the desire to please
you does in fact please you.
And I hope that I have that desire in all
that I am doing.
And I know that if I do this, you
will lead me by the right road
though I may know nothing about it.

Therefore will I trust you always
though I may seem to be lost
and in the shadow of death, I will
not fear, for you are ever with me
and you will never leave me
to face my perils alone.

Sweets, French Fries and Soda

My life is pretty boring today.  My pop is home and we just had chicken mcnuggets for lunch.  It was a quite yummy Mardi Gras lunch actually.

My cat Moose and I are now looking for things to do while also watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  Cedric Diggory (Aka Rob Pattinson) is really making my afternoon enjoyable.

So even though I'm watching a great movie and all I'm still pretty bored.  Especially because I've seen these movies all lots of times.

Lent is rapidly approaching, and I've decided to try something new this time around.  I always give up something like candy or french fries or soda, but I never really get anything out of it.  While looking at the out side right now, all that I see around me is pretty barren.  There is snow and a little grass poking through, but there really isn't much life.  Recently I've been feeling that way.  I think that it probably stems from the fact that I'm not really seeing a lot of people and I've just been bumming around my house because of the leg and all.  There's got to be something else that's the problem too.

I think that I've got too much clutter in my life right now.  I have lots, and I mean lots of little things all over my room, and a lot of the crap doesn't really mean anything.  So my first agenda for lent is to clean up my room, whether it means putting stuff in storage or throwing stuff away.

The other place that my life is cluttered right now is in my thoughts.  My mind is always racing a million different ways and so I'm going to try and help that too.  I'm going to work on my spiritual life and try and "calm" that down just a little bit.  I really hope I can stick to this.  I'm sure going to try.

Laugh. LOVE. Dream.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

A few years back my mom gave me a shirt with" Laugh Love Dream" on,  I thought I'd make a short post about Valentine's Day!  (And use those three words as the title!)
Oh and my pop gave me this cute little TY beanie baby named Mischief.  Here is what the little tag says (it's cute!):

Swinging along from tree to tree,
I'm searching for the one for me.
I have a big heart that I want to share,
I may look like trouble but I truly care!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Books and Birthdays!

So first off, I'm old now.  22.  It's like 21 was a cool year because of drinking and everything and 22 just sucks.  I'm like a real adult now anyway, so everything is just made worse as I get older.
But on the other hand I got some good gifties!  I got my cool coat and video game I'd been wanting as well as the Glee Season 1 DVD, the new Train CD, another game and a guitar strap (which is actually from Christmas).

I've recently been on a reading fetish.  I mean if I'm going to be sitting around and doing nothing I might as well be enriching my mind.  For instance, I've decided that I should try and keep up on my learning for med school.  So I've been working on learning the Citric Acid (Krebs) Cycle.  I haven't gotten very far, but I've at least got a start on it.

Today, however, the movie Ella Enchanted was on ABC Family, so I sat down to watch a little bit of it.  The book is one of my favorites from when I was little, so I decided that I wanted to read it, but then I couldn't find it!  I was so sad because not only is it easy peasy to read, but it's cute and endearing and I just like it!

Then, I discovered that the author, Gail Carson Levine, has written several other books since she wrote Ella Enchanted.  One of them, entitled Fairest, is set in the same world as Ella Enchanted, so I decided to look it up.  Sure enough, the St. Louis County Library has a copy!  Naturally I requested it and am now excited to read it.  I'm curious to see whether or not it's a sequal or just in the same world.  Either way, I'm excited!!

Sutton Foster

Tonight I went with my good friend Charlie (and some of his friends) to see Sutton Foster in concert.  First of all, she was great.  Quite whitty and funny.  She was promoting her new CD, Wish, and she sang several of the songs from the CD.

I really was hoping that she would sing songs from the various shows that she's been in, and she did not disappoint.  She sang "Show Off" and "Astonishing"and a variety of other snippets from shows that she's starred in.  And, best of all, she sang "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie, which is pretty much my favorite show of all time. It was wonderful.  Simply wonderful.

Her last song (well before the two encores, one in which she sang "Defying Gravity," which was chilling) was a little song entitled "Come the Wild, Wild Weather" from a show called Waiting in the Wings, which I have never heard of.  But I really liked the lyrics:

Come the wild wild weather
If we've lost or we've won
We'll remember these words we say till our story is done
You may find as we're traveling through the years
Moments of joy and love and happiness
Reason for grief reason for tears

Come the wild wild weather
Come the wind wind come the rain
Come the little white flakes of snow
Come the joy come the pain

We shall still be together when our life story ends
For wherever we chance to go
Wherever we chance to go
We shall allways be friends

Secret Life? Really?

My life has just been reduced to nothing.  That's what I've decided.

Last night I watched part of Secret Life and then watched Life, Unexpected with my mom.  Then last night I watched some of Dave Letterman in order to hear the top ten list.

Then I watched some more of Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone.  And don't worry, yesterday I found this website miicharacters.com.  And then I proceeded to make Harry and Ron Mii's.  Yup.  That's how cool I am.

This morning I finished HP1.  And currently I'm finishing The Secret Life episode that I started from last night.  This show is so ridiculous.  That's what I've decided.

Yup, I've got nothing else.  The End.
